The Royal Victorian Order is a dynastic order of knighthood recognising distinguished personal service to the order's Sovereign, the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth realms,[1] any members of their family, or any of their viceroys. It was established in 1896.

It has Military and Civil divisions, and four grades:

  • Knight Grand Cross (G.C.V.O.)
  • Knight Commander (C.V.O.)
  • Lieutenant (L.V.O.)
  • Member (M.V.O.)
