Captain (retired) Ronald Hubert Hilliard, R.N. (29 September, 1884 – 7 March, 1916) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Hayling South, Hants, the son of Lieutenant-Commander Edwin W. G. Hilliard, R.N..

Hilliard was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1906.

In April, 1910, Hilliard qualified as an interpreter in German.

Hilliard was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1914.

Hilliard qualified for W/S duties on 8 January, 1916.

Hilliard was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1918.

Post-War

Hilliard was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 10 June, 1922 and promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 29 September, 1929.
