Commander Roderick Cosmo Gordon, D.S.O. (7 February, 1902 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

Gordon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1924.[1]

Gordon served as second-in-command of the destroyer Wessex of the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla, Home Fleet, from 1930-33.[2]

Gordon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1932.[3]

Gordon commanded the fishery protection ship Boyne in 1933-34 before taking command of the Verity of the First Destroyer Flotilla, Mediterranean Fleet.[4]

Gordon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1938.[5]

Gordon was placed on the Retired List on 17 February, 1952.[6]
