Rear-Admiral Robert Stedman MacFarlan (16 August, 1881 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career
MacFarlan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1902.[1]
He married Jeanie M. CHatman on 2 February, 1909.[2]
MacFarlan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1911.[3]
He was appointed as torpedo officer in Warspite on 14 January, 1915.
MacFarlan was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1916.[4]
Superseded in Warspite on 18 January or 8 March, 1918.[5]
Post-War
MacFarlan was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1922.[6]
MacFarlan was appointed to the light cruiser Carlisle on 11 August, 1923 to take command when she commissioned in September.
He was appointed in command of the battleship Centurion on 19 July, 1927.
MacFarlan was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 31 July, 1934 and placed on the Retired List the next day in accordance with Order in Council of 9 March, 1914.[7]
