Robert St. Vincent Sherbrooke

Rear-Admiral Robert St. Vincent Sherbrooke, V.C., D.S.O., C.B. (8 January, 1901 – 13 June, 1972) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Cdr. (later Captain) H. G. Sherbrooke, R.N. entered the Training Establishment on 15 September 1913. He passed out on 9 January, 1917 and served in the battleship H.M.S. Canada until being moved into Iron Duke on 28 Febuary, 1919. He would be in that ship for a half year.

Sherbrooke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1921.

Sherbrooke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1929.

Sherbrooke was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1935.

Sherbrooke was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1942.

Sherbrooke was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 July, 1951. Invalided with defective vision on 18 November, 1953, he was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 4 March, 1954.
