Commander R.N.R. (retired) Robert Sibthorpe Connolly (20 March, 1877 – 14 April, 1926) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Connolly obtained Third Class gunnery and torpedo certificates in 1908. After completing twelve months' training, Connolly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 30 June, 1909.[1]

Connolly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1917.[2]

In 1919, Captain, Gunnery, Devonport reported that Connolly was considered too old for a modern ship, though he might serve in a ship where a high standard of gunnery was not required.[3]

Connolly retired on account of age with the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 20 March, 1922.[4]
