Captain R.N.R. Robert Henry Campbell Crawford, O.B.E. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve in both world wars.

Life & Career

Crawford's father, at least, resided in the Bahamas.

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Temporary Midshipman R.N.R. on 12 January, 1915. After eadling with mumps at Plymouth Hospital, he was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Orbita on 30 June, 1915. On 22 May 1917 he was appointed to the destroyer Thorn.[1]

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Temporary Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1917.[2]

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1918. He was demobilised on 6 May 1919.[3]

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 31 December, 1924.[4]

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1932.[5]

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1937.[6]

World War II

Crawford was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 31 December, 1942.[7]
