Robert Francis Boyle

Vice-Admiral THE HONOURABLE Robert Francis Boyle, M.V.O., Royal Navy (12 December, 1863 – 11 September, 1922) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was appointed in command of Leviathan and as Flag Captain to Rear-Admiral The Hon. Hedworth Lambton on 26 June, 1905.[1]

Boyle was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 April, 1914, vice Slade.[2]

Flag Rank

In March, 1916, he was appointed to fly his flag at Stornoway.[3]

Boyle was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 10 February, 1919, and placed on the Retired List on 11 February.[4]
