Lieutenant Robert Edward Cornelius Cayley, R.N. (22 September, 1870 – 14 December, 1896) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Cayley was the top-scoring of thirty-three candidates for a naval cadetship in examinations held in late 1883. He passed out of Britannia in December, 1885 with eight months' time.[1] He was appointed first to Iron Duke of the Channel Squadron.

Cayley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 25 August, 1892. He would die in Decmber, 1896 end of fever at Zanzibar.

Cayley's service record is found within our PDF for Godfrey Edwin Corbett.
