Lieutenant-Commander Robert Constable (4 May, 1884 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Constable was promoted to the rank of Mate on 28 August, 1913.[1]

Constable was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 April, 1916.[2]

Constable was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the destroyer Exe on 3 August, 1918.[3]

He commanded M.L. 99 from 1 September 1920 to February, 1921.

He commanded the trawler Foyle from 24 March, 1921 to some time in April, 1921.

From mid-March 1922 to mid 1927, he was in a variety of commands of groups of emergency destroyers.

Constable was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 28 April, 1924.

Placed on the Retired List on account of age on 4 May 1928.

World War II

During 1939-40, Constable server as Consular Shipping Adviser in Amsterdam.
