Commander (retired) THE HONOURABLE Robert Arthur William Joseph Southwell, (5 September, 1898 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Viscount Southwell would succeed to the title in October, 1944.[1]
Southwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1919.[2]
Southwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1927.[3]
Retired at his own request on 31 October, 1933.[4]
Southwell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 5 September, 1938.[5]
World War II
Commanded the escort carrier H.M.S. Speaker from 20 November, 1943 to 14 December, 1944.[6]
He reverted to the Retired List on 23 June, 1945.[7]
