Commander Richard Peard Clarke, (27 August, 1902 – 8 April, 1973) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
Born in Saunton, Somerset.[1] He was awarded the Ronald Megaw Memorial Prize.
He was awarded the Robert Roxburgh Memorial Prize for being the Naval Cadet who obtained the highest place in the grand aggregate of marks in the Passing Out Examination at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.
Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1932.[2]
He married at Valletta, Malta on April 23, 1938.[3]
He is buried near where he died, in La Herradura, Granada, Andalusia, Spain.[4]
