Richard John Hollis Couch

Lieutenant-Commander Richard John Hollis Couch, D.S.C., R.N. (16 November, 1907 – 1 September, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.

As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.

Life & Career

Couch was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 16 February, 1931.[1]

Couch was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 16 February, 1939.[2]

World War II

Couch was killed in the sinking of his command, the destroyer Esk.
