Commander Reginald Victor Barton, (24 May, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Barrister-at-Law Molyneux Barton, Esq., M.A..[1]

Barton commanded the second picket boat of H.M.S. Prince of Wales during the landings at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.[2]

Barton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 August, 1916, which was then altered to 30 May, 1916.[3]

Barton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 May, 1924.[4]

World War II

Barton was appointed in command of the seaplane tender Albatross vice Richard Sheridan-Patterson (or "Jackson"?) on 3 February, 1939. Hewas placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 24 May, 1939, but continued to serve in Albatross until 1 August, 1939 at the rank of Lt-Cdr..[5]
