Reginald Percy Tanner

Commander Reginald Percy Tanner, D.S.C. (10 April, 1904 – 22 May, 1941) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Tanner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1927.[1]
Tanner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1935.[2]
Tanner was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1940.[3]
Tanner was serving as gunnery officer in H.M.S. Gloucester when Captain Frederick R. Garside and the ship's First Officer were killed by an Italian bomb. Tanner took over command as senior surviving officer on board until he was in turn relieved by Henry A. Rowley.[4]
