Lieutenant-Commander THE HONOURABLE Peter Robert Heathcote Drummond Willoughby, R.N. (2 November, 1885 – 1 November, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Willoughby was

Willoughby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1906.

Willoughby served as first and gunnery officer in Bellona from March 1912 through June 1913. In the Annual Manoeuvres of 1913, he was lent to Euryalus as Flag Lieutenant. On 1 September, he was sent to the first class protected cruiser H.M.S. Powerful as gunnery officer. He remained with her until he was appointed to the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Monmouth on 30 July, 1914.

Willoughby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1914.

Willoughby died when Monmouth was lost at the Battle of Coronel on 1 November, 1914.
