Captain R.N.R. (retired) Norman William Martin Kemp, R.D., R.N.R. (11 February, 1886 – c. mid November, 1943) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Born in Hull.

Kemp was despatched to Chatham on 11 August, 1914. He was appointed to join the destroyer Vulture. He stayed in her until being appointed to Research for command of T.B. 87 in March, 1916.

Kemp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 26 October 1916, with a seniority of 1 July, 1916.

Kemp was appointed Lieutenant, R.N.R. in Command of the destroyer Peterel on 13 December, 1917.[1]

Kemp was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 July, 1924.

Kemp was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1930.

Kemp was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 11 February, 1936.

Kemp was buried on 18 November, 1943.
