Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Michael John Ahern, O.B.E. (6 May, 1854 – 11 September, 1928) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Ahern was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 12 August, 1879.

Ahern was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 1 November, 1899.

Ahern was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1903.

Ahern was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 6 May 1909 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1911.

Ahern served in the Great War, reverting to his pension on 15 November, 1919.
