Commander (retired) Lewis Tobias Peyton-Jones, R.N. (25 August, 1877 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

The Royal Navy had him on the books as Lewis Tobias Jones before correcting his name in his service record.

Life & Career

Jones was born in Brighton, Victoria [illeg], the son of Captain Jones of the old H.M.S. St. Vincent, docked in Portsmouth.

Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1899. In 1906, he was found guilty at a Court Martial for grounding Donegal and had to forfeit one year's seniority, placing him at 15 December, 1900.

Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1908.

Jones was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 8 June, 1922.
