Vice-Admiral Lawrence Walter Braithwaite (18 July, 1878 – 18 January 1961) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

While serving as a sub-Lieutenant with Endymion in China, he was wounded on 22 June 1900 near Hsiku.

Braithwaite was promoted to Captain on 31 December, 1917.

In June 1919, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Highflyer.[1]

He was appointed in command of the light cruiser H.M.S. Ajax in April 1925.[2]

He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral while on the retired list.
