Commander Lancelot Vivian Donne, D.S.C.* (23 January, 1895 – 11 May, 1952) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Donne was made a Midshipman on 15 September, 1912.[1]

Donne was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 November, 1916, subsequently adjusted to 30 June, 1916.

He was first officer in E 42 when she torpedoed the German Moltke, and received much of the credit.

Donne was appointed in command of the submarine H 23 on 3 September, 1920.[2]

Donne was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1924.

Donne was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.

World War II

Placed on the Retired List on account of age on 23 January, 1945.
