Lancelot Alexander Montgomery

Lieutenant Lancelot Alexander Montgomery, R.N. (2 April, 1888 – 1 November, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Lieutenant Colonel R. A. Montgomery, D.S.O., R.M. was born in India.

Montgomery was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 November, 1907.

Montgomery was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1909.

After serving as torpedo officer in London and Suffolk, Montgomery was appointed to the armoured cruiser Good Hope as torpedo officer upon transfer of flag on 19 August, 1914. He would die in her when she was lost at the Battle of Coronel.
