Commander (retired) Julian Macartney Ogilvie, R.N. (8 April, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Ogilvie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1904.

Ogilvie was appointed in command of the destroyer Haughty on 16 October, 1909.[1]

Ogilvie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1912.

Retired 16 April, 1912, Ogilvie was brought back on the outbreak of war to serve in the armed merchant cruiser Otranto, appointed 4 August, 1914. Superseded on 20 March, 1915, he worked briefly with the Trade Division, ending on 4 May, 1915. It is unclear what then happened to him, but his health was not at all good.
