Commander (retired) Joseph Hugh Langdon Yorke, R.N. (20 September, 1888 – 16 July, 1936) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in New Zealand.

Yorke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1910.[1]

Yorke was appointed in command of the destroyer Skate on 2 July, 1917.[2]

Yorke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1918.[3]

Post-War

On 5 February, 1920, he was appointed in command of the destroyer Trinidad.[4]

Yorke was superseded in command of the light cruiser Dartmouth in May, 1928 and placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander, being medically unfit due to sclerosis on 22 October, 1928.[5]
