Acting Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. John Wales, D.S.O. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Wales was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 6 January, 1915 and was appointed to trawler Steven Furness from 15 January, 1915.

Wales was granted the temporary acting rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 11 March, 1916.

Wales was awarded the Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal and certificate for gallantry in the loss of trawler Tom Tit on 26 December 1916.

He commanded the Eleventh Fleet Sweeping Flotilla for some period.
