Captain John Foster Barham Carslake, (4 May, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Carslake was awarded the second-ever Ogilvy Medal, for the year 1913, for taking first place in examinations to qualify for Lieutenant (T).

During the Great War, he served as torpedo officer in Inflexible, Ocean and Malaya.[1]

Carslake was promoted to the rank of Commander in 1922, while serving in Hood.[2]

Carslake was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1929.[3]

Carslake was replaced as Deputy Director of Torpedoes and Mining by fellow Ogilvy Medal winner Captain Gervase Boswell Middleton and was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 10 February, 1936.[4]
