Commander (retired) John Alexander Binnie, (27 April, 1898 – 20 March, 1945) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Binnie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1919.

Binnie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1927.

Binnie was placed on the Retired List on 24 April, 1931.

Binnie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 27 April, 1938.

He died in the loss of the Lapwing when she was torpedoed by U-968 while escorting a convoy to Murmansk.
