Rear Admiral John Adams Howell (16 March, 1840 – 1918) served in the United States Navy.
Life & Career
Howell was born in New York in 1840 and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1858.[1]
Howell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 April, 1861.[2]
Howell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander on 3 March, 1865.[3]
Howell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 6 March, 1872.[4]
Howell was promoted to the rank of Captain on March, 1884.[5]
He was commissioned as a Commodore in September, 1895.[6]
He was commissioned as Rear Admiral 10 August, 1898.[7]
