Acting Captain James Claude Durie Esdaile, O.B.E., C.B.E. (3 October, 1899 – 12 October, 1993) served in the Royal Australian Navy.
Life & Career
In 1913 Esdaile joined the Royal Australian Naval College as member of its inaugural term of cadet midshipmen. He graduated second in his class in, perhaps, 1916.[1]
Esdaile specialised in anti-submarine warfare.
Esdaile was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1920.[2]
Esdaile was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in 1928.[1]
Esdaile was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority 31 December, 1933.[3]
