Hugh Henry Darby Tothill
Admiral SIR Hugh Henry Darby Tothill, K.C.B., K.C.M.G., K.C.V.O., Royal Navy (14 March, 1865 – 25 September, 1927) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career
Tothill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1888.[1]
Tothill was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1900.[2]
Captain
Tothill was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1905.[3] On 19 March, 1906, he was appointed in command of H.M.S. Barfleur, and as Flag Captain.[4]
Great War
Tothill was appointed in command of the dreadnought battleship Conqueror on 22 December, 1914.[5] Tothill was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 17 April, 1917, vice Hunter.[6] On 31 May, he replaced Rear-Admiral Lionel Halsey as Fourth Sea Lord.[7]
Post-War
Tothill was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 June, 1921.[8]
Tothill was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 1 March, 1926.[9] He placed on the Retired List at his own request on 25 October, 1926.[10]
