Rear-Admiral SIR Henry Russell Robinson, K.C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (28 May, 1856 – 7 July, 1942) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

Robinson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 10 August, 1881.[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander dated 31 December, 1894.[2]

Robinson was promoted to Captain dated 30 June, 1900.[3]

He was appointed in command of the Aboukir in reserve on 1 February, 1906.[4]

He commissioned the new battleship Africa in November 1906.

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 30 April, 1908.[5] On 22 June, 1909, he was advanced to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List.[6]

On 23 February, 1917, Robinson was appointed an Additional Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (K.C.M.G.) in recognition of his services during the war.[7]
