Captain (retired) Henry Eilbeck Hillman, R.N. (4 May, 1874 – 21 February, 1957) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hillman entered the Navy direct from Thames Nautical Training College, Worcester on 4 July, 1890.

Hillman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1896. He received the Shadwell Testimonial for 1901 for his chartwork of the Yangste River.

Hillman was retired at his own request on 7 July 1906.

Hillman was promoted to the rank of Commander on 4 May, 1914. He was appointed in command of fleet messenger S.S. Victoria by the Commodore in China on 13 August, 1914 and was superseded on 7 September.

Hillman reverted to the Retired List on 21 December, 1918 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in recognition of services rendered during the war, dated 11 November, 1918.
