Rear-Admiral Hector Boyes, C.M.G., R.N. (20 February, 1881 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain G. T. H. Boys, R.N. was born in Plymouth and gained five months' time on passing out of Britannia.

Boyes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 September, 1902.[1]

Boyes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1910.

Boyes was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915.[2]

Post-War

Boyes was appointed to the second class protected cruiser Fox on 21 March, 1919. When Captain Edward Altham left in late 1919, Boyes became the senior officer aboard.[3]

Boyes was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1922.

Boyes was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 23 November, 1934 and was placed on the Retired List the following day.

He was Naval Attaché to a number of other countries.TODO: document
