Lieutenant Harold Boase (18 March, 1892 – 16 April, 1917) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a solicitor in Penzance, Boase gained one half month in passing out of the Training Establishment.

Boase was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 30 December, 1912.[1]

He trained for submarines in Dolphin for four months, starting in February 1914.

Boase gained an Engine Room duty certificatw on 8 Septmeber 1913 after spending four months in training.

On 8 November 1913, he was appointed to C 29 and gained his watch-keeping certificate on 8 December.

Boase was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 December, 1914.

Boase left C 29 on 10 August 1915 when he was appointed to Maidstone for submarines. Presently, he was appointed to D 8 in November, 1915. On 16 July 1916, he was appointed to E 45. He left her when he was appointed in command of C 16 on 3 or 8 December, 1916.

Boase died when C 16 was lost in a collision on 16 April, 1917.[2]
