H.M. T.B. 9 was one of 19 first-class torpedo boats of the T.B. 1 class.

Service

In 1881, there were twenty T.B.s in all;  T.B. 9 was fitted for Whitehead and was the only boat serving out of Malta.[3]

In 1895, she was one of ten first-class T.B.s stationed in Malta.[4]
