H.M.S. Woolwich was completed to navy order as a depot ship.

Service

Woolwich served with destroyers at Harwich in 1914 and then at Rosyth until the end of the war.[5]

She was with the First Destroyer Flotilla from at least July, 1914.[6] In April 1916, she started also supporting the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

In November, Woolwich was detached from supporting 1 D.F.; then working exclusively for the Template:UK DF.[8]

In July 1918, she transferred to work with the Third Destroyer Flotilla, bearing her Captain (D),[9] Woolwich surrendered her role as Captain (D)'s ship in March and April of 1919, and then resumed it "temporarily" until being detached "temporarily" in July, 1919.[10]

She recommissioned at Devonport on 3 February, 1920.[11]
