H.M.S. Vixen was one of three Vixen Class armoured gunboats completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

From 1869 through 1892, the Navy List shows her at Bermuda, but with no officers assigned to her.

Vixen was commissioned on 1 October 1866. On 15 November she took on powder at the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich, consisting of 70 cases of 1.25 cwt each. On 16 November, she received a final inspection from Commodore Edmonstone, Superintendent of Woolwich Dockyard.[6]

Captains

The Navy List never shows any officers assigned to between 1869 and 1892.
