H.M.S. Thruster was one of sixty-two "R" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1916-17.

Service

Thruster re-commissioned with reduced Complement on 11 October, 1919.[8]

She was re-commissioned with Reserve Crew on 6 February, 1923.[9]

Commissioned at Portsmouth on 26 May, 1926 for work with the Portland Anti-Submarine Flotilla.[10]

The ship was re-commissioned on 21 July, 1933 with the First Anti-Submarine Flotilla.[11]

After many years of continuous operation with the Anti-Submarine Flotilla out of Portland and a brief stint as Local Defence destroyers based on Alexandria, Rowena, Torrid and Thruster paid off into Reserve at The Nore on 11 June, 1936.[12]
