H.M.S. Scotsman was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

She reduced to Reserve at Devonport on 28 November, 1919.[6]

Paid off to Maintenance Reserve in Rosyth on 6 October, 1927.[7]

Commissioned at Rosyth on 2 June, 1931,[8] she proceeded to Devonport. She was reduced to Reserve on 18 August, and by early 1933 was in the Nore Reserve, with a Gunner Frederick Luxton aboard "for D.F. [direction finding?] duties".[9]
