H.M.S. Sandhurst was the former civil ship Manipur, hired in November 1914 and purchased in 1915. She served as the dummy battleship Indomitable before being converted to a fleet repair ship.[5]

Service

Sandhurst completed conversion to a depot ship in September, 1916. She served at Scapa Flow from 1916 to 1918.[6]

She was re-commissioned on 5 July, 1926.[7]

She was re-commissioned at Malta on 14 January, 1929.[8]

She re-commissioned at Chatham on 22 July, 1931 and returned to work in the Mediterranean.[9]

Re-commissioned at Chatham on 25 July, 1935 for the Mediterranean.[10]
