H.M.S. Recruit was one of forty destroyers of the "C" class — a "30 knotter".

She is not to be confused with the "R" class destroyer of the same name.

Service

In mid-1913, active with the Nore Defence Flotilla.[9]

She was torpedoed by UB 6 on 1 May, 1915[10] near Galloper Lightship, with the loss of 39.[11]
