H.M.S. Raider was one of 62 destroyers of the "R" class.

Service

Raider was assigned to the Grand Fleet's Fifteenth Destroyer Flotilla in November, 1916, as it was just reaching a useful strength.[8]

She re-commissioned with reduced Complement on 20 November, 1919[9] and arrived at Harwich on 22 November.[10]

Left Chatham on 28 July, 1921.[11]

Re-commissioned on 9 August, 1922.[12]

Arrived at Pembroke Dock on 2 June, 1923[13] and in Londonderry on 11 July[14] and Lough Swilly on 13 July.[15]

On 28 August, 1923, she left Rosyth for Chatham.[16]

She left Chatham for Portsmouth on 15 January, 1925,[17] where she commenced a refit due to complete in April.[18] She then went to Portland, arriving 3 July, 1925.[19]

In August of 1925, the Raider, Redgauntlet, Rocket and Retriever of the Portland Anti-Submarine Flotilla were selected to be scrapped. Raider was to be replaced in her work by Torrent.[20] She finally departed Portland for Portsmouth on 2 June, 1926.[21]
