H.M.S. Pearl was one of nine cruisers of the Pearl class completed for the Royal Navy in 1891 and 1892.

Service

Pearl was launched on 28 July, 1890 and christened by Mrs. Long, wife of the Captain Superintendent of Pembroke Royal Dockyard, Captain Samuel Long.[6]

She was commissioned on 8 July 1896 in order to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1896 under the command of Captain George M. Henderson.[7][8][9]
