H.M.S. Mutine was one of six Condor Class sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

She completed a refit at Sheerness Royal Dockyard in mid-November 1901 and was to proceed to the China Station under the command of Commander Claude William Manners Plenderleath.[8] Before departing, she conducted steam trials in the North Sea on 7 December, achieving 13.6 knots at 224.5 pounds pressure at boilers, 207.8 pounds at engine, at 200.4 RPM.[9]

On 7 April, 1904, Mutine arrived at Sydney in company with the Alert Class screw sloop Torch.[10]

Mutine was converted to use as a surveying vessel by 1925. She paid off to a C. & M. Party on 11 October, 1923.[11]
