H.M.S. Melampus was one of four Medea class destroyers laid down for the Greek Navy but completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Melampus accidentally rammed and sank the submarine C 16 on 16 April, 1917 – the second time that submarine suffered that misfortune.
The Admiralty credited her with sinking the submarine UC 16 on 23 October, 1917 while under the command of Charles Everard Hughes White.[6]
Reduced to C. & M. Party at Devonport on 15 October, 1919.[7]
