H.M.S. Manica was hired for use as a kite balloon ship in the Royal Navy on 11 March, 1915.

Service

She was in the Mediterranean in 1915 before moving to Home Waters later in the year where she remained into 1916. Renamed as Huntball in 1917, she later served as a hired collier.
