H.M.S. Maidstone was completed to navy order as a depot ship.

Service

Maidstone commissioned at Portsmouth on 15 October, 1912[6] and served with submarines at Harwich throughout the war.[7]

In mid-1927, she was supporting the Second Submarine Flotilla out of Devonport.[8]
