H.M.S. M 1 was one of three monitor submarines of the "M" class completed for the Royal Navy, and the only one completed in time to see service during the war.

Service

In late 1920, submarines M 1, M 2 and M 3 were allocated to submarine reserve group "C" at Portsmouth, under the collective command of Commander Hubert Vaughan-Jones and tender to Dolphin.[6]

Reduced to Reserve on 20 August, 1924.[7]
