Service
She and the other five surviving "J" class boats were commissioned in the Royal Australian Navy at Portsmouth on 25 March, 1919.[6]

- Commander Ernest W. Leir, 16 November, 1915[7] (during final construction)
- Commander Noel F. Laurence, 15 March, 1916[8] (commissioned the new submarine)
- Lieutenant-Commander Robert Bertram Ramsay, before November, 1918[9]
