H.M.S. Heliotrope was one of twelve Azalea Class sweeping sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Heliotrope served as part of the Ninth Sloop Flotilla from mid-1918 until the formation was disbanded in December, 1918. She and Spiraea left to become two of six sloops on the Black Sea and Marmora Division.[6]

Paid off 15 December, 1920, part of the Reserve Fleet in Portsmouth.[7]

After six years in reserve, she was commissioned on 15 December, 1926 for service on the America and West Indies Station.[8]

Re-commissioned at Bermuda on 12 June, 1929 for service on the America and West Indies Station.[9] She re-commissioned at Bermuda on 26 September, 1931 for service on the America and West Indies Station.[10]
